There is so much happening in the Body of Christ with respect to Angels and their role in the Church of Jesus Christ. The Bible is full of incidences where Angels played an active role in ministering to God’s people in giving direction.

Cornelius was asked by an Angel to call for Peter who would minister salvation to his household, Philip being spoken to by an Angel giving him guidance and direction in his Evangelism ministry, Paul being assured of God’s protection through an Angel when he was in captivity and many other incidences we read in the Bible.

It is interesting to note that there is no incident in the whole Bible from Old Testament to New Testament when the Servants of God had to directly issue orders to Angels to go on an assignment. Jesus Christ himself came to earth as both God and man but in Matthew 26 when He was operating as a man He showed us that it was God’s responsibility only to send or commission Angels. He did not say He could deploy Angels Himself in his human nature that time but He acknowledged that it was His Father’s role.

Matthew 26:53 Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?

Many ministers and children of God have got a tendency to engage Angels directly by directing Angels to go and do certain things but there is nowhere in the Bible where this is acceptable. The Angels are by nature messengers of God and they only take orders from God. If God has sent them to us and we do things which are in line with God’s will they are bound to fulfil their mission on earth without us directly addressing them.

Our role is to talk with God in prayer and receive from Him. If Angels talk to us we are there to engage them accordingly as per what they have been sent to reveal and they will not talk about what is outside their mission. They can only answer our questions as per the knowledge they have been allowed to share. They will not take orders from us but will take orders from God.

Hebrews 1:14  Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

The above scripture has been misunderstood to mean Angels as they are ministering spirits they can then be ordered by us just like that. The key word in Hebrews 1:14 is “sent” which shows that Angels do minister to saints but only as sent from God. They take orders from God and do their duties accordingly.

The main challenge with operating in wrong doctrine or operating in error is that the wrong spirits are eager to hijack whenever they find an opportunity. Many people end up engaging familiar spirits or fallen angels which can transform themselves into angels of light. These fallen angels can also give information and pretend to serve those who are ignorant yet deceiving them. 2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

There are other churches on earth which exalt Angels more than the Holy Spirit whilst others think the Holy Spirit and Angels are the same. No, the Holy Spirit is God and is above Angels. Angels actually take orders from the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit Himself who facilitates the ministering of Angels.

If Angels are commissioned by the Holy Spirit during speaking with other tongues as given from God directly maybe we can take this to be an example when God uses a human being as a mouthpiece to direct Angels but not this misinformed position where everyone is talking to Angels giving them orders.
